Attractions » Shaniwar Wada

The regal Shaniwar Wada was originally built as the Peshwas residence – a prestigious family of the year 1730 AD. They still hold their powerful name to this day, as people come from all over to explore the mansions riches and wealth. Shaniwar Wada has had several additions making it prosper even more so, with courts, gates and winding halls.

A tragic fire unfortunately took down the seven-storey structure entirely. The remains are said to teach others to appreciate what they own to the fullest. There is still an immense beauty in the five gateways standing and the nine bastions which enclose the palace. The glamour in the historical and original building seems to haunt the surroundings today.
